A Fact on Georgian Frontier Officers’ Bribe Taking Revealed on Georgian-Azerbaijani State Border

Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend , corr. N. Kirtskhalia / A fact on bribe taking by Georgian frontier officers on the Azerbaijani-Georgian state border has been revealed. The Georgian frontier officers took a fuel as a bribe for the admission of motor-cars coming from Azerbaijan to the Georgian territory, Trend Correspondent to Tbilisi reports.

The Georgian Frontier Police Department says that Badri Bitzadze , the Chief of the Georgian Frontier Police visited Lagodekhi (the Georgian Region of Kakheti) in person, where on the spot, he found the evidence of this timely information about Georgian frontier officers' bribe taking in the form of fuel from motor-cars crossing on the Frontier Control Point of "Tsodna".

All materials of the case have been submitted to the Georgian State Public Prosecutor's Office for further investigation. An investigator of the Frontier Police of the Country is currently working on the spot. The Frontier Police Department said that recently, there had been quite enough pieces of information about such kind of bribe taking from drivers coming to the territory of Georgia. There have been some reports that Georgian frontier officers demand from drivers crossing the frontier points to dump some 50-60 liters of fuel to cross the point and reach the Georgian territory. Capacities with fuel in them were found on the spot as well, however, Georgian frontier officers could not explain how they had turned out to be in the frontier control point.
