( Civil ) - "We are close to South Ossetian conflict resolution," President Saakashvili said at a summit of BSEC leaders in Istanbul on June 25.

"We have set up a provisional administration in South Ossetia and it holds out the hope of peace to the population there," he told those attending the summit.

He also warned that revision of borders in the Black Sea region would mean undermining stability.

"Rhetoric about new borders in the region is unacceptable and inhumane," Saakashvili said.

Speaking at a summit of GUAM leaders in Baku on June 19, President Saakashvili said South Ossetian secessionist leader Eduard Kokoity's "time is expiring." He said "the stop-watch has been switched on."
