Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will visit Turkey on Dec. 18, Turkish presidential administration told Trend Dec. 14.
“As part of the visit, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will also visit Turkey’s northeastern province of Trabzon, where he will meet the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” said the administration.
During the visit, the sides will discuss regional issues, as well as the development of economic relations.
Earlier, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek said that Turkey and Qatar intend to sign an agreement on free trade.
Simsek noted that this issue is on the two countries’ agenda.
Qatar and Turkey have big potential for increasing the trade turnover and the agreement on free trade will give a momentum to the development of economic relations between the two countries, added the deputy prime minister.
According to Turkish Statistical Institute, trade turnover between Turkey and Qatar amounted to $5.6 billion in the 3Q2016.
