By Orkhan Quluzade – Trend:

The attack on the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov showed vile and barbaric face of terrorism, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral said Dec. 20, the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan said in a message.

“This tragic event will be thoroughly investigated and those responsible will be brought to the Turkish justice,” the diplomat added. “We strongly condemn this event. We will not allow this attack to cast a shadow over relations between Turkey and Russia.”

Turkey will make every effort to fight terrorism together with Russia and other partners, the diplomat said.

Karlov died after receiving fatal wound in an armed assault at an art gallery exhibition opening in Ankara late Dec. 19. Three other people were injured in the attack. The killer, Turkish off-duty police officer Mevlut Mert Altintas, has been eliminated. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the incident an act of terrorism.
