At least seven people were wounded in two coordinate car bomb explosions at a parking-lot in central Ramadi, the capital of Iraq's western Anbar province on Sunday, a well-informed police source said, Xinhua reported.
The blasts took place in a quick succession at the parking-lot which is close to a police headquarters in central Ramadi, some 100 km west of Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blasts destroyed several nearby cars and caused damages to nearby buildings, but it was not immediately known whether the police headquarters was among the damaged buildings, the source said citing first police reports.
An investigation is underway, he added.
Iraqi security forces cordoned off the area to secure the scene, while ambulances transferred the victims to the city hospital, the source said.
Violence and deadly attacks are common recently in the once volatile province of Anbar, which has been relatively calm for more than two years after Sunni tribes and anti-U.S. insurgent groups turned to cooperate with the U.S. troops and Iraqi security forces against al-Qaida in Iraq network
