Egypt condemns Baghdad terrorist blasts

Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned in a statement the terrorist suicide bombings which rocked Baghdad on Tuesday, leaving at least 101 people dead, Xinhua reported.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossam Zaki said such acts are jeopardizing the unity and stability of Iraq at a time when the war-torn country is badly in need of its people's efforts to undertake its reconstruction process.

Zaki asserted that all Egyptian embassy staffers in Iraq are safe and sound.

Earlier on Tuesday, at least 101 people were killed and 182 others injured in a series of massive bomb explosions that rocked the Iraqi capital said.

Despite the drop in violence in the last two years, recent series of attacks have raised concerns about the ability of Iraqi security forces to contain violence ahead of the country's national elections early next year.
