A senior Chinese official said here Monday that China and Egypt should have more exchanges and cooperation in various sectors to enrich the strategic partnership of the two countries.

A senior Chinese official said here Monday that China and Egypt should have more exchanges and cooperation in various sectors to enrich the strategic partnership of the two countries, Xinhua reported.
  
"The Chinese and Egyptian people have good traditional friendship. Since the establishment of the strategic partnership relationship, the two countries have expanded cooperation in various sectors and maintained coordination on important international and regional issues," said Wang Gang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, when talking with Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif on Monday.
  
The senior Chinese official, also vice chairman of China's top political advisory body, conveyed to the Egyptian premier the greetings from his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao.
  
The two sides should strengthen political mutual trust and conduct more exchanges of personnel at all levels, and promote cooperation in trade, agriculture and energy in addition to cultural, educational, media exchanges, said Wang.
  
Nazif said Egypt appreciated the great achievement China had made in its reform, opening up and socialist construction.
  
Egypt attached great importance to developing ties with China and expected more fruits of cooperation, he added.
  
Wang, head of a CPC delegation, started a four-day visit to Egypt on Saturday. He has met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Egypt's ruling National Democratic Party Secretary- General Safwat el-Sherif.
