Jordanian workers urged to avoid dealing with Israeli, U.S. goods

A top anti-normalization Jordanian committee grouping opposition parties and professional associations on Saturday urged the Jordanian general federation of trade unions to boycott and not to cooperate with Israel and the United States, Xinhua reported.
The committee urged Jordanian workers to shun from loading or unloading Israeli goods at all Jordanian land and sea ports and airports and called on them to refuse to deal with ships heading to Israel.
The committee called on Jordanian workers to boycott dealing with U.S. ships or goods, saying, "The U.S. is a strategic ally for the Zionist enemy and is very hostile against the Arabs and Muslims through its limitless support to the Zionist entity and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan."
Jordan's Higher Executive Committee for Defending the Homeland and Confronting Normalization made the remarks in a statement posted Saturday on the website of the Islamic Action Front (IAF), which is the political wing of Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan.
The committee also called on Jordanian laborers to reject all types of normalization with Israel.
Jordan's opposition parties and professional associations are strong advocates of cutting ties with Israel and have repeatedly called for abolishing the Wadi Araba peace treaty Jordan and Israel signed in 1994.
They have constantly called on the government to end all types of normalization with Israel.
