Jordan's King Abdullah II on Wednesday received an invitation from the President of Peru Alan Garcia for attending the Arab-Latin American summit due to be held in Lima early next year, an official statement said, dpa reported.
The invitation was relayed by visiting Peruvian Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Garcia during a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh.
The Lima summit, slated for February 16, is due to group a number of Arab and Latin American countries.
Judeh and Garcia reviewed latest Middle East developments, including efforts under way to rescue the direct talks between the Palestinians and Israel that have the aim of achieving the two-state solution, the statement said.
