South African President Jacob Zuma Tuesday began a two-day state visit to Egypt that is expected to centre around African affairs and trade cooperation.

Zuma and his Egyptian counterpart Hosny Mubarak would discuss developments in Somalia, Sudan and the Horn of Africa, according to Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit, DPA reported.

The South African leader, whose delegation includes nine cabinet ministers and a business delegation, is to take part in the Egyptian- African business forum.

This is the first Zuma's first to Egypt since he was elected president in April 2009.

Mubarak last visited South Africa in July 2008.

Aboul Gheit and South Africa's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane discussed the Palestinian issue as well as ways to prevent conflicts in the continent in a meeting ahead of the visit.
