Members of the al-Qaeda affiliated Islamic State of Iraq seized control of a church in Baghdad on Sunday and are holding hostages, according to TV reports.
Al-Baghdadiya TV reported that the militants threatened to kill the hostages if security forces, who have surrounded the building, tried to enter, dpa reported.
The militants are demanding the release of al-Qaeda members in Iraq and Egypt, the report said.
