Three aid workers, one of them from Bulgaria, have been abducted in the Darfur region of Sudan, a Bulgarian member of the European parliament was quoted as saying Thursday, DPA reported.
The trio was in Darfur on behalf of the United Nations, Bulgarian national radio reported.
The disclosure was made by Marija Nedelcheva, who is in charge of a group of observers sent by the European Union to monitor the independence referendum currently taking place in in southern Sudan.
