Several hundred Palestinians marched to Ramallah's city centre Saturday in support of the uprising in Egypt, where protesters have demanded the ouster of President Hosny Mubarak, dpa reported.
The protest was called by different Palestinian groups, but those absent included Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party and its rival, the Islamist Hamas.
While previous protests were broken up and organizers questioned by Palestinian security, police stayed away from the protesters on Saturday.
The demonstrators shouted slogans demanding that Mubarak leave office, with some calling him an agent of the United States. They waved Palestinian, Egyptian and Tunisian flags.
A similar, but smaller, protest took place in the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.
