Egypt's public schools, universities to reopen February 20

Public schools and universities are scheduled to resume classes on February 20, state media reported Wednesday quoting the Ministry of Higher Education, dpa reported.

Students at public schools and universities were supposed to return to classes on Sunday, but will now do so later in the month, according to al-Ahram online.

A number of faculties were forced to postpone final exams when pro-democracy protests erupted nationwide 16 days ago and a curfew was imposed.

The American University in Cairo said it would resume undergraduate classes Sunday, the American International School will reopen February 20, while the Lycée Français du Caire will hold classes in about three weeks.
