Libya's central government building is on fire in the Libyan capital Tripoli, a Tripoli-based journalist told the Al Jazeera television channel.
The channel also reported that several police stations in Tripoli were on fire, DPA reported.
Protests against Libyan leader Moamer Gaddafi continued for the seventh day in Libya on Monday, with witnesses saying that security forces were leaving several cities.
In Beirut, meanwhile, Lebanese television broadcaster NBN also reported fires in Tripoli, saying that "the headquarters of Al- Jamahiriya Two television and Al-Shababia radio are on fire."
NBN, quoting witnesses on condition of anonymity, said protesters had torched public buildings in the capital overnight.
Meanwhile, the European Union is working on the evacuation of all its nationals from Libya, the report added.
