Libyan leader Moamer Gaddafi greeted thousands of supporters in Tripoli's Green Square on Friday, in a show of strength that he still had control over the capital, dpa reported.
"We will die here on the soil of Libya. We will defeat foreign attempts as we did the former Italian imperialism," he said, as he waved the Libyan flag.
He said that life without the green banner was "useless," referring to the anti-Gaddafi protesters who have taken down the Libyan flag and replaced it with a flag used prior to his coup.
"This is the invincible youth," he said as he waved to supporters.
