Report: Triple bombing in Iraq kills 8
At least eight people were killed and dozens wounded in three explosions that rocked the southern Iraqi city of Basra late Wednesday, the BBC Arabic broadcaster reported.
The explosions took place outside three cafes in an area of central Basra, 420 kilometers south-east of the capital Baghdad, dpa quoted the report as saying.
It quoted hospital sources as saying more than 24 people were injured in the blasts.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks.
Sunni extremist militants who belong to al-Qaeda have been escalating their attacks, as the US prepares to withdraw its troops at the end of the year from Iraq.
