Some 51 people were victims of the clashes of the protestors with the security forces in Syria for over the past day, "Al-Jazeera" TV channel reports.
According to the Syrian activists, there were clashes between militaries, who took side of the opposition, and security forces in the south of the country. According to the reports, 20 soldiers were killed.
Syria has been experiencing continuous anti-government protests for almost seven months. According to UN statistics, the number of clash victims exceeded 3,500 people. Syrian authorities say more than 1,500 people died on both sides.
