Libya's interim government has agreed on a cabinet line up, with the new defence minister named as the local commander whose forces captured Moammer Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam, local media reported Tuesday.

Osama al-Juwali, head of the military council in Zintan, was given the defence portfolio, while the deputy envoy to the UN, Ibrahim Dabashi, was named as foreign minister, Libya Al-Ahrar TV reported.

In other appointments, current interim Oil Minister, Ali al-Tarhouni, was given the finance portfolio, DPA reported.

Technocrats and liberals are said to be given different posts in the new cabinet line up, expected to be announced in full later Tuesday.

The new interim government will run the country until parliamentary elections are held.

The appointments came just days after the capture of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi and former spy chief Abdullah al-Sanussi.
