The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) was on Tuesday expected in Libya for talks on the trial of slain leader Moamer Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam and his former spy chief, DPA reported.

Luis Moreno-Ocampo departed from Cairo where he had arrived late Monday, according to Cairo airport officials.

His visit to Tripoli comes as the country's interim rulers insist on putting Saif al-Islam, 39 and former intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi on trial in Libya.

The men were arrested in the south of the country on the weekend. Saif al-Islam, 39, his father and al-Senussi were indicted by the ICC earlier this year for crimes against humanity.
