Mohamed ElBaradei, the former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said he is willing to abandon his bid for election as Egypt's president to lead a national salvation government, the state-run Middle East News Agency reported, citing a statement by ElBaradei's office.
Protesters in Cairo said they wanted presidential hopefuls ElBaradei, Abdel Abu el-Fotouh and Hamdine Sabahi to form a national salvation government, Bloomberg quoted MENA as reporting.
