The Jordanian government on Friday denounced the twin bombings that rocked Damascus as "acts of terrorism", dpa reported.
Jordan "strongly condemns the two attacks and expresses sympathy with the families of the victims," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad Kayed was quoted as saying by the official Petra news agency.
According to Syrian state-run media, 44 people were killed in two suicide bombings that targeted security service bases in the Syrian capital.
Jordan hopes that "security and harmony will return to Syria, acts of killing and bloodshed come to an end," and that reforms be "carried out at once," the Jordanian official said.
