Thousands gathered Saturday outside the Omayad Mosque in central Damascus to mourn those who died in a twin suicide blast a day earlier dpa reported
Amid the wailing of women, men and children, dozens of coffins passed through the streets of the capital Damascus towards the mosque, witnesses told dpa.
Coffins were wrapped with Syrian flags, and people threw rose petals and rice on the funeral procession as it passed through the streets.
"Those are the martyrs of free Syria," chanted the crowd as they gathered outside the mosque.
