Human Rights Watch on Friday called on the Arab League to make public the final report of its observer mission to Syria dpa reported
This was necessary to address increasing concerns that the mission "is being manipulated by the Syrian authorities," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director for the New York-based international organization said.
"Only a transparent assessment of the monitoring mission can determine whether the monitors should stay in the country," she added.
Human Rights Watch also called on the United Nations Security Council to impose targeted sanctions on Syrian individuals, and an arms embargo to halt the 10-month bloodshed in the country.
