Syria rejected allegations Tuesday by UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay that government forces had committed crimes against humanity during the country's 11-month uprising, according to state-run Syrian news agency SANA, dpa reported.
"The foreign ministry, in a message sent to the UN Human Rights Commission, categorically rejected the new allegations made by the commission," SANA reported.
The message said the UN commission was "turning into a tool in the hands of some countries targeting Syria, and ignoring the terrorist crimes committed by the armed groups."
