EU: Syria not meeting ceasefire "responsibilities"
Syria has fallen short on its "responsibilities" under a ceasefire it agreed to implement, an EU spokesman said Friday.
"It is clear that the Syrian government is not keeping up with its responsibilities. It had promised to pull back military troops ... That is not the case for the moment," said Michael Mann, a spokesman for the European Union's foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, DPA reported.
"We are very worried by the continued violence."
Mann said it was "very important" for United Nations observers to be fully deployed in Syria. "We hope that the presence of observers will change the situation on the ground."
