1 dead in Iraqi bombing
One Iraqi officer was killed and four soldiers were wounded in an attack by militants on an army patrol west of Baghdad, Voice of Russia reported.
The incident occurred on Sunday near the village of Abu Ghraib where a bomb was placed and then set off on the route taken by the patrol.
Two civilians were also injured in the attack.
The level of violence in Iraq is gradually declining, but the thunder of bomb blasts can be heard almost every day in many cities throughout the country.
The main targets of the extremists are law enforcement officers and the authorities.
