A guard from the Italian embassy in Yemen has been freed, the Italian Foreign Ministry said four days after he was kidnapped dpa reported
The ministry gave no further details in its statement late Thursday, nor would it comment on whether a ransom was paid. The man, a member of the Carabinieri police force, was abducted on Sunday from a shop in the capital Sana'a.
Italian media reported that a local clan had seized him as a means to pressurize the Yemeni government.
