Moscow and Damascus have agreed on supply in the near future of Russian energy resources to Syria, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of Syria Qadri Jamil said at a news conference at RIA Novosti on Friday.
"An agreement was reached with Russia to solve these problems (concerning energy), and in the coming weeks, I hope, concrete steps will be made," he said.
According to Qadri Jamil, "unilateral illegal Western sanctions against Syria" have a negative impact on the economy. In particular, the lack of crude oil and refined petroleum products - oil and gas is felt.
"These are illegal sanctions, and Russia assumed the task of helping Syria in the current economic conditions," he added.
