At least 137 people were killed in the clashes between the Free Syrian Army and government forces in different cities of the country yesterday, Turkish Anatolia News Agency reported.
Victims were mainly among the civilians of Aleppo, Damascus and Idlib cities of Syria. Anti-government protests have been going on in Syria for over 17 months.
According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 20,000. More than 230,000 have become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
