Six policemen were killed and five injured in a suicide car bombing in central Iraq on Sunday, a health official said, dpa reported.
A bomber blew up his car near a checkpoint in Kut city, located 180 kilometres south-east of Baghdad. Five policemen were injured, the city's heath chief, Jabar al-Yasri, said.
Deadly attacks have increased across the country this year, many of them targeting security personnel.
