Germany is to help world efforts to destroy Syria's stockpile of chemical weapons and their ingredients, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Thursday in Berlin, dpa reported.
He said a state-owned company, GEKA, which has an ammunition destruction plant in the small town of Munster south of Hamburg, would destroy a stock of the dangerous chemicals.
Germany is believed to have offered to take several hundred tons of hydrolysate, a liquid ingredient used in weapons production, which Syria has handed over.
