Syrian opposition and government delegations have started discussions on a proposed transitional governing body, opposition spokesman Louay al-Safi says, dpa reported.
"The positive step was that today was the first day we talked about the transitional governing body," al-Safi told reporters after a morning session of direct talks between the sides.
"We will talk about the details in the coming days - the size of the body, its duties, the length of its mandate," al-Safi adds.
