The Egyptian interior ministry on Monday exposed a terrorist cell made up of 225 members in a live broadcast on state television, Al Arabiya reported.

The ministry aired confessions of alleged terrorists that belong to a group named Ajnad Misr, meaning "Soldiers of Egypt."

The little-known group has recently claimed bombings in Cairo which have targeted police and army forces.

Militants have stepped up their attacks against security forces since the army ousted Islamist President Mohammad Mursi last year in July.

The authorities have previously blamed the Muslim Brotherhood for the attacks and have blacklisted it as a "terrorist organization."
