Putin says ceasefire achieved in Syria
Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 29
Agreements have been achieved on a ceasefire in Syria and the readiness to start peace talks, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said, TASS news agency reported.
“Reports have just arrived that several hours ago there was a development that we all have for so long looked and worked for. Three documents have been signed. A ceasefire between the Syrian government and the armed opposition is one. A package of measures to control the ceasefire is another. And a declaration of readiness to enter peace talks on a settlement in Syria is the third,” Putin said at a meeting with Russian foreign and defense ministers.
