Detroit-based U.S. automaker Ford on Friday announced to recall about 953,000 vehicles worldwide, as certain Takata passenger air bag inflators could explode, Xinhua reports.
On the recall list, 782,384 will be called back in the United States and federalized territories, which is the largest series of recalls in U.S. history. Another 149,652 vehicles were sold in Canada.
The recall includes the 2010 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX, the 2010 and 2011 Ford Ranger, the 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, the 2010 and 2011 Mercury Milan, and the 2010 to 2014 Ford Mustang.
Ford is not aware of any injuries associated with the passenger side frontal inflators included in this safety recall, according to the company's statement on its official website.
Ford said dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag inflator or module at no cost to the customer.
