Iran is Real Threat for World: US President

Israel, Jerusalem / corr Trend R.Abdullayev / "Iran is a real threat to the world and will remain a threat until the world community is against its nuclear program," US President George W. Bush said in a joint news conference with the Iranian Premier Ehud Olmert.

The US President, who did not agree with the final result by the US intelligence organizations on the cessation of the Iranian nuclear program, stated that it would not be so difficult for the political regime in Tehran to transfer the nuclear program to the military. However, the US President did not exclude the possibility of military strikes on Iran, stating that Washington prefers to solve the problem through peace, using financial and economic sanctions against Tehran, as well as the influence of Russia, China and Europe.

Bush stated that Tehran sponsors terrorist organizations such as HAMAS and Hezbollah. " Iran threatens the peace process in the Near East and is interested in the instability in this region". With respect to the peace process in the Near East, Bush stated that he admires the courage of Ehud Olmert and Mahmoud Abbas, because the process itself is not illusion, but real painstaking work for the future of the two nations. "Both sides must make important difficult decisions. The United States is prepared to render any assistance to both sides.

In his turn the Israeli Premier regarded Bush's visit as historical. "In the last year of your presidency you are dedicated to the resolution of the near east and we hope that together we can realize our sacred goal - two countries for two nations," he said. Olmert thanked the US President for the necessary and desired support to Israel. Jerusalem is prepared for peace, whereas peace is impossible while shooting and terror attacks continue in the territory of Israel. Until terror continues in Gaza, it will be hard to achieve peace in the Near East," the Israeli Premier stated.
