( dpa ) - Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian gunman in the Gaza Strip Thursday morning, the military wing of the Fatah movement and the Israeli military said.
Fatah said the gunman was killed during an attack on an army post which sparked a two-hour-long gun battle, but an Israeli military spokeswoman in Tel Aviv said there had been no such raid.
The gunman, who had been armed with a AK-47 semi-automatic weapon, was shot as he approached the border fence, she said.
