Israel, Jerusalem, 31 January / Тrend corr. R. Abdullayev / The UN and Israel has launched implementation of a joint project - printing of marks dedicated to the International Day of Holocaust's Victims, MIGNEWS reported.
Ceremonies in this occasion were held on 27 January - the anniversary of release of prisoners from the Osventsim death camp. The marks reflect the logo of the UN's Holocaust program, as well as a barbed wire horizontally crossing the sheet and eventually transforming into a vine and flowers.
"The mark issuing demonstrates the UN's will to give the Holocaust victims their due, as well as international community's striving for prevention of future genocides," the UN Secretary General Pan Gu Mun said.
"The joint mark issuing is an important step within the framework of the global efforts towards preventing Holocaust from being forgotten," the Israeli Communications Minister Ariel Atias said.
