Israel again stopped fuel deliveries into the Gaza Strip Thursday as the Nahal Oz crossing point was closed following an attack by a Palestinian militant, a spokeswoman for the Israeli army said. ( dpa )

A Palestinian militant opened fire on the border post in the north of the Strip. No-one was wounded.

Nahal Oz is the main entry point for fuel deliveries to the Gaza Strip. Israel allowed fuel deliveries to recommence Wednesday, a week after Palestinian gunmen infiltrated the crossing point and killed two civilians. Israel temporarily suspended fuel deliveries to the salient following that attack.

The spokeswoman said that over 400,000 litres of diesel and around 40,000 tons of gas were delivered into the Strip since Wednesday, thereby allowing the Strip's only power plant to remain in operation.
