A small model airplane flew into Israel from Lebanon two weeks ago and crashed close to the border, an Israeli Defence Force (IDF) spokesman announced Sunday night, dpa reported.
The 50 centimetre-long plane was not carrying any weapons or surveillance equipment, and is thought to have been launched by the al-Manar Television station, run by the Hezbollah organization, to mark the fourth outbreak of the 2006 bitter war between Israel the Iranian-backed group.
According to an IDF statement, "this incident was one of al-Manar's attempts of provocation in light of the four years since the Second Lebanon War. "
