A 20-year-old female Israeli soldier was killed Wednesday and five other soldiers were injured when a structure collapsed during a rehearsal of an Independence Day ceremony, police said, DPA reported.
The soldiers were practicing on a stage erected on Jerusalem's Mount Herzl, when a structure above it carrying lamps collapsed.
One of the injured was in moderate condition, Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
Israel marks its 64th Independence Day on Thursday next week.
