( RIA Novosti ) - At least 20 workers were killed and dozens injured on Wednesday morning when a bridge they were building in south Vietnam collapsed, online news portal VnExpress reported.
The cable-stayed bridge across the river Hau in the city of Can Tho had been under construction since 2004, and was scheduled for completion this year.
Japanese companies were working on the project as contractors, but it remains unclear whether Japanese citizens are among the dead. At the time of the collapse, around 250 people were working on the bridge.
