Party of Regions leading in Ukraine parliamentary elections

( Itar-Tass ) - The Party of Regions led by Prime Mnister Viktor Yanukovich has increased its margin over the Yulia Tomoshenko Bloc at Ukraine's early parliamentary elections.

The Central Election Commission said after counting 93 percent of votes that the Party of Regions had won 34 percent of votes and the Yulia Timoshenko Bloc 31 percent.

However, the Yulia Timoshenko Bloc has chances to get a ruling majority in the new parliament in coalition with the pro-presidential bloc Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defence that has 14 percent .

The Party of Regions and its ally Communist Party, which has got 5 percent of votes, currently can count on 200 seats in the parliament.

Allying with the bloc led by ex-parliament leader Vladimir Litvin, which came in with 4 percent of votes, can give them another 20 seats.

However, the Litvin bloc has not declared its intentions as yet.

Timoshenko said in the night to Tuesday that she was ready to form a government on the basis of her coalition with Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defence.

She also said she was ready to give the chair of the parliament leader to the pro-presidential bloc.

The Central Election Committee said final voting results would be certain by October 15.
