( ForUm ) - Thomas Hammarberg, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe is ready to help Ukrainian authority to obtain technical assistance from the European Council for development of human rights in Ukraine. He stated, commenting his report concerning the situation with human rights in Ukraine.
"If new government is interested in this, I will be able to find arguments for such assistance from the side of the EU," he said.
Hammarberg has noted that many recommendations, represented in his reports, need finance resources, as well as time for their realization.
"But I think that investments in protection of human rights, including the formation of effective system of jurisdiction on the bases of courts, are good investments, as they unite society and develop trust between citizens and authority," the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe said.
