(Gulfnews) -(India) A Class 11 student of a well-known school in Ahmedabad died yesterday after he was asked to circle the school grounds seven times for arriving late.
Sixteen-year-old Milan Jashwantlal Tanna, a student of Narayani Guru Vidyalaya, collapsed after two rounds.
He was taken to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival, vice principal Sudhir said.
His body has been sent for a post-mortem and police are questioning the teacher who allegedly punished him.
Sudhir said Tanna "inflicted the punishment on himself".
"He completed the rounds and was returning to his class when he became unconscious," he said.
