( dpa ) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki was in good health but went for medical check-ups in Britain, an Iraqi lawmaker said Sunday.
"Al-Maliki left for London to undergo routine check-ups," MP Hasan al-Sinid told the Iraqi daily al-Sabah.
The lawmaker denied reports that al-Maliki had a health problem, saying his condition was not a cause for concern.
Al-Maliki, 57, left on Saturday for medical tests in Britain for the first time since he took office in May 2006.
