( dpa ) - Serbian Interior Minister Dragan Jocic was badly injured in a traffic accident late Friday and had to undergo emergency operation in hospital police and hospital officials divulged Saturday.
Police said Jocic's official car struck a stray dog and then struck a guard rail before veering off the road and rolling over several times.
The accident took place near the town of Velika Plana, 90 kilometres south of Belgrade, with Jocic being rushed to hospital in Belgrade and undergoing an operation.
The hospital in a brief comment reported by the Tanjug agency said about Jocic's condition that "all vital parametres are stable."
