( dpa ) - The last living child of legendary US president John F Kennedy has endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in the Sunday edition of New York Times.
The endorsement by Caroline Kennedy, who has kept a low profile through the many family tragedies since her father's assassination in 1963, gives a huge boost to Obama, who clinched a blockbuster victory in the South Carolina primary Saturday in his bid for the centre-left party's nomination for the White House.
South Carolina Democrats handed him the first majority victory since primaries began earlier this month, with 54 per cent support based on a nearly complete vote count.
US presidential elections are on November 4.
