( dpa )- An airplane with Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov on board made an emergency landing on the Azores Islands late Tuesday, according to a presidential aide in Sofia.
On the way to Mexico for an official visit the Tupolev 154 aircraft carrrying Parvanov made an emergency landing at Lajes airport on the Azores after experiencing "mechanical problems."
Parvanov and his delegation are now on their way back to Bulgaria.
